Here are some thank you letters and other words from our families:
This was a request for repairs:
"I need windows and my ceiling is leaking. I am on a walker and my porch needs fixed it goes back and forth. I am so sorry that I need all that fixed. I always wanted a house but I couldn't get one so I had to get this. Thank you and my bathtub is also leaking."
This a thank you:
"I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the repairs that were done to my home. I am very grateful to you all for taking the time to extend your hard work and talents to beautify my home. You made this possible. I pray God blesses Habitat and every volunteer that worked on my home. I pray Habitat continues to bless other families as you have mine and many others."
While you might think that the majority of Americans feel stable and secure in their current situation, housing insecurity touches nearly half of adults at some point in their lives. Frequent moves, overcrowding and the threat of eviction or foreclosure creates stress, depression and hopelessness for far too many families.
Sometimes a helping hand is all they need to build a better life
This year will be the first year in our new home. It's an awesome feeling to enjoy knowing that we have a house to walk into and knowing that the true meaning of Christmas is beginning in our first forever home.
I'm excited because we can actually get a Christmas tree in our living room and have room to decorate with Christmas joy. Another grateful blessing we have received with our new home is being able to have family/friends over to enjoy laughs with many memories. Family is important to us so I'm glad to have space and the healthy atmosphere to be able to do so. My little boy has really enjoyed decorating the house and the outside with lights. He is so excited about baking goodies for Santa.
Habitat for Humanity ReStores across North Carolina will donate all or a portion of their proceeds from sales on November 17th to help rebuild the 93 Fayetteville Habitat homes that sustained severe damage last month in the flooding from Hurricane Matthew.
